Seventy Sins that Allah Likes That We Forsake

27- The Twenty Seventh Great Sin: Gambling and Betting

This includes the likes of lottery, lotto, and betting on money or other valuables. Competitions based on monetary bets from participants, where the winner gains the betted money and the loser lose it all is forbidden in Sharia, as Allah  commanded: ﴾O you who have believed, intoxicants and gambling and the occult of stones and the divining arrows are abomination devised by Satan. Avoid them so you may prosper﴿(1). The jurists have agreed on the prohibition of gambling. Al-Shafi ‘i said: A bet in which there is money from both parties that is won by one side or one the player, is forbidden gambling and is one of the great sins.(2)

28- The Twenty Eighth Great Sin: Blocking Roads, Even for Strikes, Causing Public Harm

The road here designates general public property or public interests shared by citizens of the same society. It is in fact a duty to protect the interest of the community, and a must to seek the good for all. Unity and consolidation make people like a solid structure, so collective interest takes over individualism for the sake of all, in an atmosphere of friendliness and kindness and a spirit of love. Islam commanded to remove the harm from the road, consequently blocking road became a great sin.

The Prophet  said in his Farewell Pilgrimage: “Shall I tell you who the believer is, he is whom men trust him with their lives and property, and the Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe, the Mujahid is the one who struggles and strives with himself for the obedience of Allah, and the Muhajir is he who abandons sins and transgressions”(3). Proof

that not all migrations take from disbelief to faith.

Abi Said Al Khudri narrated that the Prophet  said: “Avoid sitting by the road side, the people answered: O Messenger of Allah, we cannot do without these meeting places to converse and discuss our matters. The Messenger of Allah  responded: if you must then give the road its due. They asked, and what is the road due? He said: lower your gaze, abstain from anything offensive, return salutations and command the rightful and forbid the evil deeds”.(4)

29- The Twenty Ninth Great Sin: Injustice

This includes taking peoples money unjustly or oppressing people with actions like physical aggression, or verbal violence, transgression, or by wronging the weak, or taking anything prohibited and succumbing to the temptation of accepting anything prohibited. Injustice includes taking the money of an employee or servant or reducing it without valid reasons, and it is an even greater injustice to procrastinate in paying the dues of an employee while capable of fulfilling them. It is also unjust from a man to take away from the right of the woman in expenses and subsidy, or to hire a person for work and not paying his wage. Allah  said: ﴾Do not consume one another’s property by unjust means nor off er it as a bribe to the authorities, so that you may deliberately and wrongfully devour a part of other people’s wealth﴿(5).

Our Prophet  also warned us against such deeds in the Farewell Sermon: “What day is it today? We kept quiet thinking he would give that day another name, so he said, isn’t it it the day of Nahr? So we said: it is. He went on asking: what month is it? We kept quiet

thinking he would give that month another name, then he said, “Isn’t it the month of Dhul-Hijja?” We replied, “Yes.”, so he said: No doubt, your blood, properties and honor are sacred to one another like the sanctity of this day of yours, in this month of yours, in this town of yours. It is incumbent upon those who are present to inform those who are absent because those who are absent might comprehend (what I have said) better than the present audience(6).

It is also important to be aware of befriending the unjust, or seconding them, and from depreciating the properties of others.

30- The Thirtieth Great Sin: Hatred and Grudge (Includes Making Supplications against Muslims)

This is the feeling of wishing harm to others, it is a disease of the heart that might cause the heart to lose faith. Hatred and grudge are works of Satan to which only weak and dimmed-

minded people respond. Hatred and grudge anger our Lord- praise be to Him, and leads to the loss of this life and the hereafter(7). Al Baihaqi narrated from Aisha may Allah be pleased with her that she said: the Prophet woke up one night to pray, and he prostrated so long that he looked lifeless. When I saw that I got up and moved his thumb and he moved so I went back. And when he was done with his prayer he said: “O Aisha (or Oh little red head) did you think that the Prophet forsake you? I said: no by the name of Allah, but the length of your prostration worried me that you may have died, he answered: do you know which night this is? I said Allah and His Prophet know best; he said this is the night of the middle of Shaaban: Allah observes His servants on this night and forgives those who ask for forgiveness, sends mercy upon those who are merciful, and leaves the people of grudge and hatred as they are”(8) Al Azhari said: his statement “forsake you” is usually used to indicate a situation when a man does not give another one his due rights(2). In another narration from Abi Thaalaba , the Prophet  said: “When it is the night of the middle of Shaaban, Allah observes His creatures, He forgives the believer, and grants time to the non-believers and He leaves the people of hatred and grudge to their feelings until they supplicate Him”.(9)

🌟 Vermicelli Soup 🌟

📝 Ingredients:

• 🍜 1 cup vermicelli pasta
• 🧅 1 medium onion, diced
• 🍅 2 tbsp tomato paste
• 🥣 4 cups broth (chicken, beef, or vegetable)
• 🫒 2 tbsp ghee or olive oil
• 🧂 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
• ⚫ ½ tsp black pepper
• 🌶️ ½ tsp paprika (optional)
• 🌱 Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1️⃣ Sauté the Onion 🧅🔥

• Heat ghee in a pot over medium heat.
• Add the diced onion and cook until soft and translucent (about 3-5 minutes).

2️⃣ Toast the Vermicelli 🍜✨

• Add the vermicelli and stir constantly until golden brown (2-3 minutes).
• Be careful not to burn it! ⏳🔥

3️⃣ Add Tomato Paste 🍅🥄

• Stir in the tomato paste and mix well with the onions and vermicelli.
• Let it cook for 1-2 minutes to enhance the flavor.

4️⃣ Pour in the Broth 🥣💦

• Slowly add the broth while stirring.
• Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.

5️⃣ Simmer the Soup 🍲⏳

• Bring the soup to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low.
• Let it simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until the vermicelli is fully cooked.

6️⃣ Final Touches 🌱👌

• Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
• Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro before serving. 🌿

• اللهم إن كانت هذه الليلة هي ليلة القدر التي جعلتها خيرًا من ألف شهر، فإني أتوسل إليك وأدعوك دعاء المضطر، حتى تقول: “يا ملائكتي، قد قضيت حاجة عبدي هذه الليلة، فقد أيقن بقدري واستودعني أمره.
• اللهم اجعل لنا في هذه الليلة المباركة نصيبًا من رحمتك ومغفرتك ورضوانك، واكتبنا فيها من العتقاء من النار، ومن المقبولين في عبادتك، ومن الفائزين بجناتك.اللهم إني أسألك أن تختم لنا رمضان بقبول الأعمال، وتوبة صادقة، وقلب نقي، وسعادة لا تزول، وذنب مغفور، وعمل مبرور، ودعاء مستجاب.اللهم لا تجعلنا من الذين مرّ عليهم رمضان دون أن يُغفر لهم، ولا من الذين أدركوا ليلة القدر ولم يحظوا بفضلها، بل اجعلنا من الذين فازوا برحمتك، وكتب لهم نصيبًا من كل خير.

• اللهم لا تدع لنا في هذه الليلة المباركة ذنبًا إلا غفرته، ولا همًا إلا فرجته، ولا دينًا إلا قضيته، ولا مريضًا إلا شفيته، ولا مبتلًى إلا عافيته، ولا حاجة من حوائج الدنيا والآخرة إلا قضيتها بكرمك وفضلك.اللهم اجعل رمضان شاهدًا لنا لا علينا، ولا تختمه إلا وقد بشرتنا بقبول الأعمال، واستجابة الدعوات، وغفران الذنوب، وفرحة لا تزول.
• اللهم يا من بيدك الخير، اجعل لنا في هذه الأيام المباركة من كل هم فرجًا، ومن كل ضيق مخرجًا، وارزقنا من حيث لا نحتسب
• .اللهم اجمع قلوبنا على طاعتك، واهدنا صراطك المستقيم، وثبتنا على دينك، وارزقنا حسن الخاتمة.اللهم إنك عفو كريم تحب العفو فاعفُ عنا، واغفر لنا، وتقبل صيامنا وقيامنا، وبلغنا ليلة القدر، واكتب لنا فيها الرحمة والمغفرة والعتق من النار.

• اللهم اجعل ختام هذا الشهر مغفرة ورحمة وفرحًا، ولا تجعله حسرة وندامة، وأبدل أحزاننا سعادة، وديوننا قضاء، وأمنياتنا تحقيقًا، وأحوالنا تيسيرًا.اللهم اجعل لنا نصيبًا من كل خير تنزله، وبركة تنشرها، ورحمة تفيض بها، وسعادة تغمر قلوبنا، وفرجًا لكل همومنا.اللهم اجعلنا في هذا الشهر المبارك من الذين استجبت دعواتهم، وغفرت زلاتهم، وتقبلت أعمالهم، وبلغتهم ليلة القدر، وكتبت لهم الرحمة والمغفرة والعتق من النار.
• اللهم اجعلنا من المقبولين عندك، ومن المقربين إليك، ومن الموفقين في الدنيا والآخرة، ومن الذين رضيت عنهم ورضوا عنك.
• اللهم لا تحرمنا لذة مناجاتك، ولا لذة العبادة في ليالي رمضان، وارزقنا فيها الإخلاص، والخشوع، والخضوع، والطمأنينة

• اللهم اجعل رمضان هذا العام شهرًا مغيّرًا لأحوالنا، ومصلحًا لقلوبنا، ومحققًا لأحلامنا، ورافعًا لدرجاتنا، ومغفرًا لذنوبنا، ومعتقًا لرقابنا من النار.
• اللهم اجعل خير أعمالنا خواتيمها، وخير أيامنا يوم نلقاك فيه، وأحسن لنا الختام، وأدخلنا الجنة بغير حساب، برحمتك يا أرحم الراحمين.

• اللهم بارك لنا في أسماعنا، وأبصارنا، وقلوبنا، وأزواجنا، وذرياتنا، وتُبْ علينا إنك أنت التواب الرحيم، واجعلنا شاكرين لنعمك، مثنين بها عليك، قابلين لها، وأتممها علينا يا رب العالمين.
• اللهم إنا نسألك يُسرًا ليس بعده عسر، وغنًى ليس بعده فقر، وأمنًا ليس بعده خوف، وسعادة ليس بعدها شقاء يا رب العالمين.اللهم أحيِنا في الدنيا مؤمنين طائعين، وتوفَّنا مسلمين تائبين، ولا تردّنا خائبين، وآتنا أفضل ما تؤتي عبادك الصالحين يا رب العالمين.
• اللهم إنا نسألك خشيتك في الغيب والشهادة، وكلمة الحق في الرضا والغضب، ونسألك القصد في الغنى والفقر يا رب العالمين.
• اللهم بحق علمك الغيب، وقدرتك على الخلق؛ أحيِنا ما علمت الحياة خيرًا لنا، وتوفَّنا ما علمت الوفاة خيرًا لنا يا رب العالمين.
• اللهم يا عزيز يا جبار، اجعل قلوبنا تخشع من تقواك، وأعيننا تدمع من خشيتك، واجعلنا يا رب من أهل التقوى والمغفرة يا رب العالمين.اللهم اجعل لنا في كل لحظة بركة، وفي كل خطوة سلامة، وفي كل دعاء استجابة، وارزقنا القلوب النقية والنفوس الراضية، واغفر لنا ما قدَّمنا وما أخَّرنا، وما أسررنا وما أعلنّا، وما أنت أعلم به منا، يا واسع المغفرة والعفو.

• اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعفُ عنا.اللهم إنّا نسألك ما يرضيك، ونعوذ بك مما يؤذيك، ونسألك التوفيق لطاعتك وعدم معصيتك، يا جواد السائلين.اللهم إنا استودعناك خفايا قلوبنا،
• اللهم وكلنا إليك في كل أيامنا، اللهم تولّنا، وسخّر لنا من يحمل الخير بين يديه، وفي قلبه، وقوله، وفعله.اللهم صلِّ وسلم وبارك على سيدنا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين.

• O Allah, if this night is Laylat al-Qadr, which You have made better than a thousand months, I beseech You and call upon You in desperation until You say: “O My angels, I have fulfilled My servant’s need tonight, for he has placed his certainty in My decree and entrusted his matters to Me.”
• O Allah, grant us a portion of Your mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure on this blessed night, and write us among those freed from Hellfire, accepted in Your worship, and granted entry to Your Paradise.
• O Allah, let our Ramadan conclude with accepted deeds, sincere repentance, purified hearts, endless joy, forgiven sins, righteous acts, and answered prayers.
• O Allah, do not make us among those upon whom Ramadan passed without receiving Your forgiveness, nor among those who witnessed Laylat al-Qadr without attaining its blessings. Rather, make us among those who have won Your mercy and secured a share of every goodness.
• O Allah, grant us in this blessed month an unwavering supplication, endless provisions, and an open gate to Paradise.
• O Allah, make our fasting purely for Your sake, our night prayers a light in our graves, and our recitation of the Qur’an a witness for us, not against us.O Allah, before Ramadan ends, bless us with purified hearts, tranquil souls, sincere repentance, lasting happiness, good health, and peace of mind.
• O Allah, relieve us from every worry, ease every hardship, fulfill our needs, and grant our wishes.
• O Allah, do not let this blessed night pass without forgiving our sins, alleviating our burdens, settling our debts, healing our sick, and granting relief to those afflicted.
• O Allah, let Ramadan bear witness for us, not against us, and do not let it end without granting us the glad tidings of accepted deeds, answered prayers, forgiven sins, and everlasting joy.
• O Allah, grant us ease from every hardship, relief from every distress, and sustenance from unexpected sources.O Allah, unite our hearts in Your obedience, guide us upon Your straight path, keep us steadfast in faith, and grant us a blessed ending.
• O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, Most Generous, and You love forgiveness—so forgive us, accept our fasting and prayers, allow us to witness Laylat al-Qadr, and write us among those who receive mercy, forgiveness, and freedom from Hellfire.
• O Allah, make this night a night of acceptance, goodness, and blessings. Fulfill our desires, grant us tranquility, and bless our lives.
• O Allah, let the conclusion of Ramadan be forgiveness, mercy, and joy—not regret or sorrow. Replace our hardships with ease, our debts with provisions, our dreams with fulfillment, and our difficulties with relief.
• O Allah, accept our deeds, raise our ranks, and grant us eternal bliss in both this life and the Hereafter.
• O Allah, make our final deeds our best deeds, our last days our best days, and our ultimate fate one of eternal success.
• O Allah, grant us a clear victory, guide us to a straight path, grant us an honorable triumph, complete Your blessings upon us, instill tranquility in our hearts, and spread Your grace and mercy upon us, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
• O Allah, bless our hearing, our sight, our hearts, our spouses, and our children. Accept our repentance, for You are the Most Forgiving and Merciful. Make us grateful for Your blessings, praising You for them, accepting them with contentment, and completing them upon us, O Lord of the worlds.
• O Allah, we ask You for ease with no hardship after it, wealth with no poverty after it, security with no fear after it, and happiness with no misery after it, O Lord of the worlds.
• O Allah, let us live in this world as faithful and obedient believers, and let us die as repentant Muslims. Do not turn us away in disappointment, and grant us the best of what You bestow upon Your righteous servants, O Lord of the worlds.
• O Allah, we ask You for reverence in both the seen and unseen, for truthfulness in both contentment and anger, and for moderation in both wealth and poverty, O Lord of the worlds.
• O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, grant us life if You know life is better for us, and grant us death if You know death is better for us, O Lord of the worlds.
• O Allah, O Mighty and Compeller, make our hearts humble in reverence to You, make our eyes weep out of fear of You, and make us among the pious and the forgiven, O Lord of the worlds.
• O Allah, bless every moment of our days with goodness, every step with safety, and every prayer with an answer. Grant us pure hearts and content souls. Forgive what we have done and what we have delayed, what we have concealed and what we have revealed, and what You know better about us, O Most Generous in forgiveness and pardon.
• O Allah, grant us victory, for You are the Best of Helpers. Open doors for us, for You are the Best of Openers. Plan for us, for You are the Best of Planners. Forgive us, for You are the Best of Forgivers. Have mercy on us, for You are the Best of the Merciful. Provide for us, for You are the Best of Providers. Guide us and save us from the wrongdoing people.Send us good and blessed winds as You have decreed in Your knowledge, spread upon us from the treasures of Your mercy, and strengthen faith in our hearts. Adorn it for us, endear it to us, and make disbelief, immorality, and disobedience hateful to us. Make us among the righteous, the pious, and among the truthful ones, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
• O Allah, grant us the ability to fast properly and a good ending. Make us among those who attain Your mercy, then Your forgiveness, then freedom from the Fire. Accept from us our fasting, prayers, supplications, and deeds in a manner that pleases You. Make this Ramadan a time when our worries are relieved and our matters are made easy.
• O Allah, You are the Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive us.
• O Allah, we ask You for what pleases You and seek refuge in You from what displeases You. Grant us the success to obey You and never disobey You, O Most Generous to those who ask.
• O Allah, we entrust to You the secrets of our hearts.
• O Allah, we place our affairs in Your hands in all our days.
• O Allah, take care of us, and send to us those who carry goodness in their hands, in their hearts, in their words, and in their actions.
• O Allah, send Your blessings, peace, and mercy upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and companions.
